was born to artistic parents, Chloe and Michael Puzio on April 8th, 1968 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Kathy Mae is a self-taught artist with no formal education, but a passion for creativity. Growing up in an artistic home, Kathy Mae would occupy her time by cutting paper dolls out of old catalogues, carving heads in the apples that had fallen from the trees, and using whatever she could find to create something new from used materials (a true artist). She has always felt strongly about reusing materials others would throw away, even before recycling was on the top of most people’s minds.
Kathy Mae graduated high school in 1986 and moved to St. Augustine, Florida where she worked at a rubber stamp shop, giving lessons and demonstrations. This started the path for her to pursue her art again. Kathy Mae started to create metal yard art with her brother. They both moved to Atlanta in 1998, and in 2000, she began painting the characters created in her yard art; with specific sayings.
Today (and every day), Kathy Mae (Puzio) Stalker is an evolving artist – and is exploring new creative outlets, such as textiles and animation cartoons. Kathy Mae is happily married to “the best husband ever.” They live with their 5 furry children (3 dogs and 2 cats), but love to dog-sit for friends, so other animals are always around. Kathy Mae also mentors some of her neighborhood’s children, passing on her love of art to the next generation.
